TWMLA provided landscape architecture services and construction administration for the SUNY Cobleskill Site Infrastructure Upgrade Project. The project involves site improvements and reconstruction of campus greenspaces, plazas and walkways extending from the Knapp Administration Building through the campus core and the middle quad at Bouck Hall, past Van Wagenen Library and Wheeler Hall to the Historic Quad ending at Frisbie Hall
The marriage of building and site to express sustainability and enhance the idea that learning happens everywhere is integral to the design. TWMLA worked closely with the project team to develop pedestrian plazas that infiltrate and treat runoff while enhancing the primary building entrances.
The innovative stormwater practices will also serve as working classrooms. The third-story green roof accommodates astronomy classes, which required special considerations to ambient building and site lighting.
